I studied structural integration with Tom Myers and became certified in Kinesis Myofascial Integration in January 2008. I am also a Board Certified Structural Integrator. Tom Myers' training uses the Anatomy Trains as a basis and was derived from the original form developed by Ida Rolf.
I was a faculty member at The Body Therapy Institute for 4 years and I now assist in KMI trainings and Anatomy Trains workshops. I believe that teaching deepens my knowledge of the work and I take away something of value from each class I spend time with. Each session is also a learning experience for both practitioner and client and the sessions are an education in the body sense. That is one of the aspects that attracted me to structural integration.
I have begun studies in Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute and have completed VM1. This is a more subtle form of work that is a great compliment to structural integration.
I believe bodywork is about awareness. Bringing an awareness to the physical body, and awakening the inner spirit. It is from this place that we can expand into wholeness.
